The Science of Social Simulation.

A research group studying how to simulate society, and how to know when it works.

An engraved sphere of individuals and their connections, surrounded by fine orbital paths and scientific construction lines.

Can machines faithfully simulate society?

Social simulations are easier to build than to validate. Much of social simulation remains at the demo stage: plausible behavior, but not yet rigorous science. We aim to move the field toward falsifiable science and products we can trust.

Social Simulation
Arena.

A live, prospective benchmark where simulations are graded by the real future.

From prediction to observation Conceptual diagram, not benchmark results. Seven forecasts are submitted in advance, then compared with observed real-world outcomes.
Illustrative forecast paths; not actual benchmark results.
  1. Submit prediction
  2. Wait for real world
  3. Evaluate & learn
